''The Goulburn Chronicle and Southern Advertiser'' was a weekly English language newspaper published in Goulburn, New South Wales from 1855–1864. ==History== ''The Goulburn Chronicle and Southern Advertiser'', made its debut appearance on Saturday 7 July 1855. At this time, it joined the Southern District's only other newspaper, ''The Goulburn Herald and County of Argyle Advertiser''. ''The Chronicle'' was an 8-page liberal paper published weekly, with a particular interest in land issues.〔http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article703348〕 ''The Chronicle'' continued until 1864, at which time it ceased independent publication when it was taken over by rival newspaper, the Goulburn Herald. With the merger of the two papers, the first issue of the newly incorporated ''Goulburn Herald and Chronicle'' appeared on 1 April 1864.
